Used this with Curt trailer ball to tow Uhaul trailer. Perfect!
We got this hitch to tow a uhaul car trailer carrying a 1999 Jeep Cherokee with our 2016 Chevy Silverado. We also bought the Curt 40090 trailer ball to go with it. This hitch was the right amount of drop for the uhaul trailer (according to uhaul site) and it’s one reason we settled on it. It can also be reversed. Also the good reviews helped us decide on this one. It hasn’t yet rusted on us but we don’t leave it on. Only used it once so far but it did great. It’s very well crafted and heavy duty. I hope this helps!

    Solid!
This is a solid piece of steel that will definitely hold the load. I see some other reviewers have complained that it’s a little sloppy, but I disagree. This fits nicely in my receiver and there is very little play. If you have some slop you may need to replace the receiver. This will bring a ton of piece of mind when I’m towing my skidsteer or any equally heavy load down the road. Definitely worth the money and I highly recommend.

Heavy-weight draw bar for solid trailering!
When I purchased my 33′ travel trailer camper (weighing in empty at 6800 pounds), the dealer sent me home with a 6000 pound draw bar. I wanted the best. What could possibly be better than a solid steel forged ball mount for the task. I feel much more comfortable pulling my trailer with this draw bar. I highly recommend it. The price was great and with Amazon Prime – shipping was not a concern.

    Fits sloppy
It is obviously very solid and strong. However after using it for the first time I was hearing a lot of clanking noise while towing. It seems it’s coming from the fact it fits so sloppily in the 2” receiver.I thought I’d buy something more expensive this time hoping quality would come with the higher price, but I was wrong. Now I have to put shims in to take up the slop. I don’t recommend it. Next time I’ll go with the cheap one.

    Solid piece of forged metal
It was a little loose in the receiver on my Ridgeline, and probably way overkill, but as the description states, it is a solid piece of forged metal and the receiver would probably rip out of the truck before this would fail.

    Excellent Product A+ !!!
I replaced a “Curt” forged ball mount with this Reese. The fit and finish on this Reese model is FAR SUPERIOR to the Curt and it is the correct size, fit, and excellent finish. The Curt mount was loose/sloppy in the receiver and the finish (size, grinding, paint, etc) was poor/inferior/substandard (which indicates lack of quality control). The Reese is an “A+” product compared to the Curt model which was a C-, at best. (Both had the same capacity)I would definitely recommend this Reese product to a friend and it was 1/2 the price I paid for the Curt. So, half the price and twice the product!Mike

This thing is really sturdy (and heavy)
I wish it fit a little more precisely into the receiver, but I’ve never heard any noise from it bouncing around. It IS very heavy, and our trailer has about 500 pounds on the ball when empty, so I don’t see any need to shim the ball mount. If you’re towing a trailer with a light hitch weight, you may experience some slop, but you also don’t need this ball mount which takes a 2 5/16″ ball for that kind of load. I’m happy with the purchase…very strong and a good price.

    Solid chunk of metal
It’s a heavy solid chunk of steel that works as advertised. My only minor complaint is that it is not a perfectly tight fit in the receiver and so it makes some noise when driving over rough terrain.
