Quality Trailer Ball
I ordered this ball for the extra height shoulder that raises the ball height. My trailer tongue would rub the adapter at times when making sharp turns up a driveway. This ball is raw steel so it’s going to rust if you don’t spray some paint on it. Now exactly rocket science here, spray a little paint on it and put some grease on the ball part. It takes an 1 7/8″ socket or wrench to tighten, just place the hitch adapter sideways in the truck and tighten away. I didn’t seem to have the problems others have about the ball rotating as I tightened it. I did place a little Loctite on the threads for added insurance.

Super heavy duty,
Although I didn’t need a 25K lbs rated ball I like the overkill security to tow our 13k lb enclosed trailer. The 1″ rise gave me the correct ride height. It’s raw steel so I did paint it but mask the threads as the nut will not thread on by hand if painted.

Itâs a ball
Installed in the recessed ball well on a flatbed pickup. Easy enough procedure is as follows.Open hinged door on bedInsert ball in supplied hole,check for fit it should fit snug .Crawl under the truck ,usually dripping mud and water.Install lock washer and nut.Crawl back out because you set the 1 5/8 socket on the bed while you were putting the ball in the top.Crawl back under the truck and tighten the nut. A high torque cordless impact or an air impact are great.Notice the âmudâ has more aroma than expected and determine it is actually âcow mudâ as Quinn calls it.Crawl back out and go shower.This ball has an inch and a quarter shank and a 30000 lbs capacity .it also was just right for height under the door of my flatbed.

Yes it will rust unless you grease your balls. I painted everything but the threads and then keep the wearing area greased.

if you want a vary strong ball, this is it.
vary nicley built ball. looks to be spun from a steel billit. vary strong…… definatly not a walmart special. if your worried about it rusting look elseware. its states rite in the title its (raw steel) so in a few months time its not gona be pritty but i dont buy trailer balls to look pritty. i actually use them to tow. and yes i use a ball lube on them.
